Job Description
Role Purpose:
To design, develop, and deliver high-quality electrical and electronic solutions, including protection systems and manufacturing test equipment. The role ensures compliance with applicable standards, manages design risks, and contributes to continuous improvement across projects and engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
Technical Design & Execution
- Conceptualise, design, simulate, integrate, and test electrical and electronic products and equipment for CBi
- Develop detailed engineering documentation (calculations, simulations, BOMs, specifications, reports)
- Apply relevant standards, manufacturing processes, and internal systems
Design Review, Quality & Risk Management
- Conduct design and documentation reviews
- Perform failure analysis and implement corrective actions
- Identify, assess, and mitigate design risks throughout the product lifecycle
- Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews
- Support certification and regulatory approval processes
- Create and maintain standard design procedures
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians
- Delegate work effectively and support team development
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Project Management, Suppliers, and Sales
- Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions clearly
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Drive process improvements, standardisation, and cost optimisation
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or related discipline)
- Advantageous: Postgraduate qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Electronic Design Engineering: Minimum 4 years
- Project Management Exposure: Minimum 2 years
- Product Lifecycle Exposure: Minimum 1 year
- Experience in a similar product-design environment: Advantageous (2–3 years)
