Job Description
Role Purpose:
Looking for a focused and hands-on Press Operator to operate and control the MDF ContiRoll press line in accordance with standard operating procedures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring optimal process control, output, and product quality. All while adhering to ISO standards and company policies on safety and environmental practices.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and control the MDF ContiRoll press line in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Monitor process parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, moisture, density) to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate process deviations to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine checks and ensure safety standards are always adhered to.
- Collaborate with team leaders, maintenance, and quality departments to achieve production targets.
- Record production data, prepare reports, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Ensure adherence to workplace safety, housekeeping, and ISO quality standards.
- Communicate with the Steam generation plant, Refiner and Sander Operators in order to produce the quality Products.
- Assist with the Production maintenance of the line
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Maths and Science or equivalent; a technical qualification will be advantageous.
- Diploma in Wood Technology would be an added advantage
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a production environment, preferably in wood-based panel manufacturing (MDF / Particleboard / Chipboard)
- Knowledge of ContiRoll press operation will be a strong advantage.
- Good understanding of process control systems and production workflows.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
