Job Description
Role Purpose:
We are looking for 3 x individuals with 10 years’ experience as registered ECSA – Pr Eng within the Building Services Sector . The positions are based in Alberton , Durban and Kimberley branches.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- ECSA Pr. Eng Registration
- ECSA Fire Registration ( an advantage)
- Registrations with ASHRAE, SAIRAC, SAIMECHE are advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Design experience of existing high-rise buildings
- CANUTE or any other Fire Software
- AUTOCAD / Revit exposure.
- Have a Driver’s License (with his/her own car)
- Must be willing to travel and work long hours for project requirement’s purpose.
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
- +10 years’ experience post qualification in the Building Services Sector with ECSA Registration OR
- Experience in designing within Healthcare Sector specifically , hospitals.
- Competent on Mechanical design and installations (Wet Services, Fire Services , Medical Services, Compressed Air, Laundry Equipment etc.)
- Competent in tender and bills of quantities compilation and knowledge of various contracts e.g., JBCC, NEC3 etc.
- Competent with Designs and Construction Management
- Competent to run a project from condition assessment, inception up to project handover stage with minimal to no supervision.
- Able to run the project financial management aspect comfortably with no supervision e.g., budgeting, payment certification, cost reporting, doing final accounts etc.
- Must be able to run large size (service value of +30million) comfortably without supervision including mega size (service value of +R100million) projects with no supervision at all.
- Vastly experienced and knowledgeable in doing site inspections/condition assessments and reports.
- Experience in client liaison, professional teams’ engagements, meetings, and site supervision.
- Experience in writing good and quality technical reports.
- Experience in doing feasibility studies and reports.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in mentoring other engineers.
- Draft , implement , monitor Project Cashflow for the department, revise, and present reports to Senior Management on monthly or as in when required.
- Ensure that cashflows are prepared accurately and capture projects to be invoiced and quantum to be invoiced monthly.
- Liaise with finance on a regular basis and give cashflows of what needs to be invoiced on monthly basis as accurately as possible.
- Conduct skills audit for the department on a continuous basis and report on skills gap to Senior Management and Human Resources monthly.
- Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven effective leadership skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Adhere to Mekan QMS policy , process and procedure
- Adhere to Mekan HR policies
